Thanks for visiting the Huguenot Street Farm website! We are located on historic Huguenot Street right in the heart of New Paltz, New York, about an hour and half north of NYC. Over 125 varieties of vegetables, cut flowers, and fruits are grown here on 77 acres of  fertile crop land, forest and wetlands. We gave up our Certified Organic status when the USDA took it over, but we haven't changed our growing practices which are far stricter than the USDA version of Organic. Last year almost 100 farmers from around the country and world visited the farm to check us out and they can all vouch for the "more-than-organic" way we grow vegetables. Because everyone needs a little eccentricity, Huguenot St Farm is also Veganic, and irrigated only with water from our own spring fed pond.

In the last few years, American food crops have broken too many of the wrong kinds of records. Record levels of toxic chemicals remaining on our supermarket vegetables, record gallons of oil used per pound of vegetables harvested, record number of days an insipid box-shaped tomato can still "look fresh" on the supermarket shelf, and... no surprise, according to the USDA's own research, record lows of the naturally occuring vitamins and minerals that should be found in our foods.

In this kind of an environment, it is an absolute joy to provide the exception. We believe that eating seasonally with fresh, locally-grown, organic vegetables selected not for how well they transport or look on a shelf, but how they taste and smell represents a level of quality of life and healthy eating you'll find truly pleasing.
